My name is Shaniya Marshall, a 21-year-old New Jersey native. I am a senior at Middle Georgia State University, pursuing my bachelors degree in aviation management graduating May 2024.

 

I started my brand Prettypinkpilots in March 2021 to promote women in aviation. I never knew of the aviation industry as a long-term career rather than a childhood dream. After reaching my first checkpoint of obtaining my private pilot license, I see I am one step closer to making my dream of becoming an international airline captain a reality.

 

I believe that seeing people who look like you in your intended career field can inspire you to reach your dreams, no matter how far-fetched it may seem. I am fortunate to have found a career that gives me the ability to live my true passion every day.

 

Aside from aviation, I have gained a new hobby of photography. Learning the realm of photography helps me tap into my creativity while making content for scholarships like this. I want to pave the way to make the 1% of professional women pilots 50%, one flight at a time.
